Raul Geir
Raul sees not remembering who he was as a good thing – he can make a fresh start in Agresti, help to build the region from the ground up and make it a home for the current population and generations to come, if returning through the wormholes is impossible. While he doesn’t remember his old life, he wants to preserve the culture of those who do, and sees raising food and Pokemon as the best way to do that. He knows it will take a lot of work and time, but he’s dedicated to help the other people who have found themselves stuck in Agresti.

who were you then?
Born to two Team Cipher members, Raul learned fast that trusting others could be dangerous, and that Pokemon were the way to achieve real power in Pyrite Town. His father gave him an Electrike when he was five, more to guard him while his parents were away than anything else, and the dog faithfully accompanied the boy as he roamed around Pyrite Town and the nearby abandoned mine. Once he was old enough, he began to battle other citizens and visitors alike in Duel Square.
He knew about Shadow Pokemon of course, his father owning one and often boasting of its power when he was home. While his mother appreciated what Shadow Pokemon did for Cipher, she was never fond of them, and Raul came to share her viewpoint, finding them too be too vicious for his liking.

When he turned ten, his mother gave him an Ekans to mark him being of age to become a Trainer. While Orre didn’t have an official Pokemon League like other regions, Raul being ten meant that he could now participate in battles in the Pyrite Coliseum. While he was offered a Shadow Pokemon many times due to his skills, he always declined, preferring to rely on his trusted partners.
He was thirteen when Team Cipher fell and Shadow Pokemon vanished from Pyrite Town, the team defeated by a teen Raul had fought against several times in the ring. His father was arrested and put in jail for his crimes, and his mother vanished into the desert. It stung, being without them, but Raul had never been very close to them, so he pushed on. Things were quiet for a while, the young teen continuing to battle and hone his skills. Finally, he decided to travel the region and battle in the other Coliseums.
Over the next five years he competed as much as he could in the various tournaments held around Orre, gathering fame and more powerful Pokemon as he went. Team Cipher slowly regrouped and emerged from hiding, but never held the power they once had. He kept an ear out for information about his parents, learning only that his father had been freed and had returned to Cipher. Raul had no interest in joining him, and so continued his Coliseum tour.
He was traveling to the next tournament when he was sucked into an Ultra Wormhole. Everything he had was torn away from him, aside from a few miscellaneous things, but most importantly, his memory was taken as well.

what remains?
Raul knows how to speak, read, and write, but everything else is gone. Some things will come back to him if he thinks about it long enough, but he's relearning everything from scratch.
